NEW YORK, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) — Three people were injured in a shooting in Times Square early Saturday morning, local media reported, citing the New York Police Department.
A police spokesman said all the victims were taken to hospital and were in stable condition. A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident and a firearm was seized from him.
The shooting occurred around 1:20 a.m. ET/5:20 a.m. GMT at the intersection of 44th Street and 7th Avenue in the city's busy tourist area.
Videos circulating on social media showed people fleeing the scene, with police surrounding the vehicle and helping the injured on the ground.
