NEW YORK, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — A shooting took place on Friday at Emory University in the U.S. city of Atlanta (Georgia), killing the attacker and wounding one police officer.
According to NBC News, citing Atlanta police, one person was the shooter and is now dead, and there is no further threat to the campus or surrounding area. A law enforcement officer was injured in a confrontation with the shooter.
According to the latest announcement from the university, the alert has been lifted and students and staff can leave their shelters.
