BAGHDAD, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) — Iraq on Friday condemned Israel's plan to establish full control over Gaza City, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian principles.
In a statement, Iraq's Foreign Ministry said it categorically rejected the "escalation plan" that continues Israel's policy of "starving, displacing and massacring" civilians in Gaza.
The agency called on the international community to “assume legal and humanitarian responsibility and take immediate action to stop these violations.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said Friday that the country's security cabinet had approved a plan to take control of Gaza City. -0-
