HUAILAI, Hebei Province, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) — China has successfully completed a comprehensive landing and takeoff test of the lunar lander Lanyue at the extraterrestrial celestial object landing test site in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, north China's Hebei Province, the China Manned Space Administration (CMSA) said Thursday.
The test, which was completed on Wednesday, represents a key step in the development of China's manned lunar exploration program and marks the first time China has conducted a landing and takeoff test of a manned spacecraft on an extraterrestrial celestial body, the CMSA said. -0-
