NEW YORK, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump plans to meet in person with Russian President Vladimir Putin next week and plans to hold a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky soon after, the New York Times reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
According to the report, during a telephone conversation with European leaders on Wednesday, D. Trump said that only he, V. Putin and V. Zelensky would be present at the meetings.
A source familiar with the details of the telephone conversation said that the Europeans seemed to agree with D. Trump's decision. However, it remains unclear whether V. Putin and V. Zelensky accepted the proposed plan, the newspaper notes.
