MANILA, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) — Eight people were killed and 15 others were injured in a road accident in the southern Philippines' Sultan Kudarat province, regional police said Thursday.
According to her, the incident occurred in the city of Lebak at around 17:20 local time. A mini dump truck carrying 22 people was moving down the highway. Due to brake failure on a turn, the truck crashed into a pile of concrete debris left by road workers and then fell into a ravine.
Ambulance crews took the victims to a local hospital, where eight people were pronounced dead. –0–
