Library No. 33 named after D.A. Furmanov will hold a lecture-presentation for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the artist Geliy Korzhin (1925–2012).
Soviet and Russian painter, academician of the USSR Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and the RSFSR, Geliy Korzhin was a representative of the "severe style".
The program includes a story about the artist’s life, his creative path, and an analysis of key works, including the triptych “Communists” (1957–1960) and the series “Scorched by the Fire of War” (1962–1967). The event will be accompanied by a presentation with reproductions of the paintings.
