BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — Seven researchers were announced as winners of the 2025 Future Science Prize at a ceremony held in Beijing on Wednesday.
According to a statement published on the official Future Science Prize website, three paleontologists – Ji Qiang, Xu Xing and Zhou Zhonghe – were awarded the life sciences prize for discovering fossils that support the theory that birds evolved from dinosaurs.
Fan Zhong, Dai Xi and Ding Hong were awarded the Prize in Physical Sciences for their contributions to computational prediction and experimental realization of topological electronic materials.
The winner of the Mathematics and Computer Science Prize was Lu Zhiyuan, who was recognized for his innovation and leadership in advancing non-volatile semiconductor memory technologies, including developments in cell density, device integration, and data storage reliability.
A total of 46 scientists have won the Future Science Prize since its inception in 2016. It is a non-governmental science award in China, jointly established by groups of scientists and entrepreneurs to promote research in basic sciences. –0–
