The builders of the new museum center of the State Historical Museum (GIM) next to the Novodevichy Convent have now fully erected all five floors of the building, including the underground floor, finished the roofing and are completing the façade work. Inside, work is underway to finish the premises and install engineering systems.
"In the new branch of the State Historical Museum, specialists will create comfortable conditions for studying and displaying collections, as well as for the safe storage of museum valuables. The central exhibition of the new museum center will be dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Novodevichy Convent. It is planned to begin assembling the exhibition and its semantic content in early 2026," noted the press service of the Single Customer in the field of construction.
Construction began in October 2023 and is taking place within the buffer zone of the Novodevichy Convent ensemble, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the comprehensive state program “Construction”, which is supervised by the Ministry of Construction of Russia.
