Tashkent, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — The international gastronomic festival "Samarkand Plov" was held in Samarkand recently, the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan announced.
The main goal of the event is reportedly to promote the tourism potential of Samarkand, popularize national cuisine and demonstrate the rich gastronomic heritage of the region.
During the event, cooks prepared seven tons of pilaf, which became one of the highlights of the festival. There were also culinary master classes, exhibitions of handicrafts and oriental sweets, and a concert program. –0–
