KATHMANDU, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — The 11th Chinese Culture Talent Competition for Nepali Schoolchildren was held here on Tuesday.

Around 300 contestants showcased their talents by performing 10 Chinese songs and 10 Chinese modern and classical dances, drawing thunderous applause from the audience.

“Every word you speak, every character you write, or every cultural element you are going to showcase here today is a step towards building bridges between our two nations,” said Badal Pradhan, rector of Learning Realm International School in Nepal.

“May this event inspire you all to continue learning about the history of Chinese language and culture,” B. Pradhan told the primary and secondary school students who attended the competition.

The competition was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and the Volunteer Center for International Chinese Language Training in Nepal. –0–
