KYIV, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram on Tuesday that he had a productive phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, discussing the two countries' security cooperation.
According to V. Zelensky, the key topic of the conversation was ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict, including the introduction of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The Ukrainian President noted that he exchanged views with the head of the White House regarding the latest Russian strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian settlements.
Separately, V. Zelensky and D. Trump discussed the readiness of a number of European countries, in particular the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, to allocate over 1 billion US dollars for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine.
In addition, V. Zelensky reported that official Kyiv has already drawn up a draft agreement on drones and is ready to discuss and conclude this document. –0–
