HARBIN, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) — The main forum of the annual Sun Island Business Conference opened Sunday in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, with new-quality productive forces the main topic of discussion.

As a national-level dialogue platform, this year's conference brought together guests from government, business, academia and entrepreneurship to bring innovative ideas and impetus to high-quality socio-economic development.

Liu Hui, deputy secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, said the province has rich scientific and educational resources, a profound heritage of innovation and a solid industrial base. He hoped that the conference participants could make valuable suggestions and contribute to the high-quality development and sustainable recovery of Heilongjiang.

Liu Jian, deputy director general of Xinhua News Agency, said the conference serves as a platform for exchanges and cooperation, helping to promote local economic and social development and the all-round rise of Northeast China. He said such a platform can provide vital support for high-level opening-up and the development of new productive forces.

The conference, themed “Productive Forces of New Quality: New Intelligent Production, New Consumption, and New Ecosystem,” is being held from August 2 to 4. The event is organized by Xinhua News Agency and Harbin Modern Culture and Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd.

In addition to the main forum, the conference also hosts parallel events, such as forums on digital intelligence for new consumption and on the integrated development of low-altitude economy and intelligent manufacturing. –0–
