BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) — A freight train loaded with cars and auto parts departed from Wuwei City in northwest China's Gansu Province for Tashkent late last month, marking the opening of the Wuwei-Central Asia railway route on a permanent basis.
The train will deliver 301 tons of cargo worth 10.5 million yuan to Central Asia. It will pass through the Khorgos checkpoint on the Chinese-Kazakh border and reach the capital of Uzbekistan in a week.
The Lanzhou branch of China Railways, the International Land Port Authority, the local logistics center and other organizations have strengthened coordination and cooperation to ensure the departure of the freight train, according to a statement released on the official website of the Gansu provincial government. -0-
