BISHKEK, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev met with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, who paid an official visit to Kyrgyzstan on Aug. 1-2, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported on Saturday.
During the meeting, the heads of the Foreign Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan discussed key aspects of interaction between the two countries in the political, trade and economic, transit and transport, water and energy, cultural and humanitarian and migration spheres, and also exchanged views on interaction within the framework of international and regional organizations.
The parties expressed mutual satisfaction with the level of trusting political dialogue achieved at the highest and high levels, and also confirmed their determination to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation, the statement said.
The meeting focused on developing trade and economic ties, implementing joint investment projects, modernizing checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, and ensuring free movement of goods and people. The head of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry noted the importance of further deepening mutually beneficial economic ties, increasing bilateral trade turnover, and expanding investment cooperation.
Also, Zh. Kulubayev and M. Nurtleu reviewed the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached by the heads of state and government of the two countries, and issues of organizing bilateral meetings and visits before the end of the year. –0–
