BISHKEK, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) — The World Festival of Traditional Culture and Music "Rukh Sanat" opened in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Province, Kyrgyzstan on Friday. More than 100 musicians, researchers and experts from over 30 countries are taking part in the event, the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev noted at the opening of the festival that holding such festivals is a reflection of the spirit of the times. In the modern world, where the cultures and economies of different nations are increasingly intertwined, it is important to preserve cultural heritage. He expressed confidence that the festival will become a significant international platform for strengthening cultural ties between countries.

The festival aims to demonstrate the richness of the world's cultural heritage and develop global cultural dialogue. Participants represent various areas of traditional art – music, dance, oral folklore, crafts and ritual culture.
