August 1 is the birthday of the Leningrad Region. In honor of this event, the regional leadership organized a ceremonial presentation of state and regional awards to citizens and organizations that actively contribute to the development of the territory.
The gratitude of the Governor of the Leningrad Region was received by the employees of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The head of the region Alexander Drozdenko and the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Sergey Bebenin presented awards to the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Lyudmila Pankova, the Head of the Directorate of Basic Educational Programs Nadezhda Grashchenko and the Deputy Director for Library Activities Victoria Lysenko.
The regional leaders thus expressed their gratitude to the Polytechnicians for their humanitarian assistance to the new territories under the patronage of the Leningrad Region.
Last autumn, Polytechnic together with the regional transport committee delivered a large batch of books to the Central Library of the city of Yenakiyevo (DPR). The selection includes publications on current social topics, specialized literature on construction, architecture and transport.
