On July 26, giant pandas Shuangxin and Hexing celebrated their birthdays in Xining, Qinghai Province. The male Hexing turned 12 this year, and the female Shuangxin turned 14. The staff of the Panda House arranged a "festive banquet" for them with treats made from apples, watermelons and bamboo shoots.
