Specialists from the Tomsk Scientific Institute of Rosneft have developed a specialized software module integrated into the corporate information system GIS-RN for working with engineering and geological data.
The development allows for the prompt analysis and use of information on the type of soil, its physical and mechanical properties, and the coordinates of rocks. This increases the efficiency of design when carrying out work on the ground.
The new format of engineering and geological information also opens up opportunities to use specialized data in a wide range of corporate design software. For example, such information as qualitative and quantitative characteristics of wells, combined in a unified digital format of the new module, can be used, if necessary, to build three-dimensional soil models. This functionality is planned to be implemented in 2026 as the information database accumulates.
The GIS-RN system is Rosneft's own development. It is the first corporate geoinformation system that is built on import-substituting technologies and solves current production problems in the oil sector of the fuel and energy complex.
Rosneft's geoinformation service is included in the register of domestic software of the Ministry of Digital Development. In 2024 "GIS-RN" is recognized as the best digital solution for the oil and gas industry.
