BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) — Since the beginning of this year and through July 26, the cargo turnover through the Ereenhot railway checkpoint on the border between China and Mongolia has exceeded 10 million tons, according to the press service of the Ereenhot city government in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

This year, the above-mentioned checkpoint continues to show a trend of stable development of trade and tourism industry. Cargo turnover through Ereen Hot increased by 2.5 percent year-on-year.

During the reporting period, the volume of China-Europe rail freight via Erenhot approached 2.75 million tons, which is 11 percent more than a year earlier.

Ereen is the largest land checkpoint on the border between China and Mongolia. It currently serves freight trains on 73 China-Europe routes. Regular rail service through Ereen connects more than 60 Chinese cities with 70 cities and stations in more than 10 countries, including Russia, Germany and Poland. -0-
