The Heroes of Our Time nomination presents projects aimed at supporting the participants of the SVO and their families, as well as initiatives to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War and help veterans. Among the declared projects in the nomination are the all-Russian action "Immortal Regiment", as well as the project of the charity foundation "Country for Children", which provides support to children of military personnel and families affected by military operations.

Compared to last year, 2024, the number of applications increased by 11.3%, and the number of participating countries increased by 5. This year, 13 new countries joined the award for the first time: Austria, Ireland, Lithuania, Latvia, Abkhazia, Guinea-Bissau, North Macedonia, Myanmar, Croatia, Comoros, Oman, Switzerland and Estonia. The top 10 countries by number of projects: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, Afghanistan, Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Brazil and the USA.
This year, winners will be determined in such nominations as "Volunteer of the Year", "Mentor of the Year", "Heroes of Our Time", "Generation of Good", "Country of Opportunities", "Code of Mercy", "Leader of NPO", "Leader of Social Change. Large Business", "Leader of Social Change. SME", "Constituent Entity of the Russian Federation" and "Municipal Entities and Single-Industry Towns".
"This year, a total of 18,977 people are applying for the Volunteer of the Year nomination, and 5,890 people for the Mentor of the Year title. 11,960 applications have been submitted for the Heroes of Our Time nomination, 3,837 for the Generation of Goodness nomination, 6,335 for the Country of Opportunities nomination, 5,832 for the Code of Mercy nomination, and 1,654 for the Sustainable Future nomination," said Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and Head of the Dobro.RF ecosystem.
All projects will undergo expert evaluation, where each application will be analyzed according to the criteria of significance, scalability and social impact. At the regional stages and in the semi-finals, the selected teams will present their initiatives at the regional level. At the final stage, the jury – consisting of representatives of government agencies, the expert community and public organizations – will review the project materials and make a final decision. The winners will be announced in December at the International Forum of Civil Participation
