PHNOM PENH/BANGKOK, July 28 (Xinhua) — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Vechayachai plan to meet in Malaysia on Monday to discuss the ongoing border dispute, both sides said Sunday.
“I will lead the Cambodian delegation to the special meeting in Kuala Lumpur,” Khun Manet wrote on his official social media page on Sunday evening, adding that the meeting was aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire. He also expressed gratitude to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his initiative and coordination in organizing and holding the meeting.”
Thai government spokesman Jiraju Hungsub said on Sunday that P. Vechayachai would lead a delegation to Malaysia to discuss the border issue between Thailand and Cambodia.
In a statement, J. Hungsub said P. Vechayachai would travel to Malaysia on Monday at the invitation of the country's prime minister.
