On the eve of the 25th meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council, on July 23, the SCO Dialogue of Civilizations 2025 was held in Tianjin. It was organized by the Information Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Foreign Language Publication and Distribution Office of the People's Republic of China, and the SCO Secretariat. During the event, the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies presented a research report on “Building a Community with a Shared Digital Future: China's Initiative and the Future of the SCO”. In addition, 10 youth representatives from SCO countries jointly announced the Tianjin Initiative on “Joint Protection of Civilizations. SCO Youth in Action”.

The event included three sub-forums in the areas of sustainable development, preservation of cultural heritage and visual arts. Experts, scholars and youth representatives from the SCO countries focused their discussions on three key topics: “promoting green development and joint development of the SCO ecological civilization”, “preserving the pearls of history and culture and sharing the SCO civilization treasury” and “through diversity of images – to the common future of the SCO”. The participants unanimously noted that on the eve of the 25th meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council, the events within the Dialogue make a significant contribution to deepening mutual understanding, strengthening strategic trust and promoting the construction of an even more cohesive community of a common destiny for the SCO.
