The capital's gas workers have already completed 50 percent of the work on modernizing gas networks in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow. The reconstruction began in April of this year and became part of the city's program for updating the engineering infrastructure. This was reported by the city economy complex.

The work is being carried out in Izmailovo, Vostochnoye Izmailovo and Severnoye Izmailovo. In these areas, obsolete sections of the low-pressure gas distribution network are being replaced. Worn-out steel pipes are being dismantled and replaced with modern polyethylene pipelines with high strength and resistance to aggressive external influences, as well as with a longer service life. The total length of the gas pipelines that are being reconstructed exceeds 2.7 kilometers.

When upgrading gas networks, much attention is paid to the specifics of urban development. The Eastern Administrative District is one of the most densely populated in the capital, with a high density of houses and utilities. In this regard, the work is organized in such a way as to minimize discomfort for residents. New pipes are laid using both traditional methods and modern closed technologies, including trenchless laying. This reduces noise levels, shortens reconstruction time and preserves the integrity of the urban environment.

The modernization is being carried out in stages in several key areas of the district and without disconnecting consumers. In particular, work is being carried out along 11th Parkovaya Street, Sirenevy Boulevard and 13th Parkovaya Street. All production processes are constantly monitored by Mosgaz specialists and comply with current safety regulations and standards.

The project to upgrade the gas distribution network in the Eastern Administrative District is aimed at long-term improvement of the reliability and sustainability of the infrastructure. The service life of the new gas pipelines will be more than 40 years.

The implementation of the project to modernize gas networks is taking place within the framework of the strategy for the development of engineering and public utility infrastructure and is in line with the goals and initiatives of the national project "Infrastructure for life".
