BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) — Qizhala, a former member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has been expelled from the CPC and dismissed from public service for serious violations of party discipline and laws, an official statement said Tuesday.
This decision was made following an investigation conducted by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission of the People's Republic of China with the approval of the CPC Central Committee.
According to the statement, Qizhala, also a former vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee's Agricultural and Rural Affairs Commission, lost his ideals and convictions and violated the party's organizational principles by benefiting others in the process of nominating and appointing cadres.
He also accepted gifts and money in violation of regulations and allowed relatives to use their positions for personal gain. Qizhala abused his official powers to make profits for others in matters such as contracting projects, financing loans, and running businesses, and illegally received large amounts of money and material assets from them.
The statement also stated that the illegally obtained funds would be confiscated and his case would be referred to the prosecutor's office for further consideration and prosecution in accordance with the law. -0-
