ZHENGZHOU, July 20 (Xinhua) — Central China's Henan Province's foreign trade volume stood at 412.53 billion yuan (about 57.7 billion U.S. dollars) in January-June 2025, up 26.2 percent year on year and maintaining double-digit growth for six consecutive months this year, data from Zhengzhou Customs showed.
According to customs data, Henan Province's foreign trade turnover exceeded 410 billion yuan for the first time in January-June this year, with the growth rate being 23.3 percentage points higher than the national average for the same period. In particular, exports amounted to 278.98 billion yuan (an increase of 38.8 percent), while imports amounted to 133.55 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1 percent.
In the first half of 2025, Henan Province's trade volume with ASEAN was 55.22 billion yuan, up 9.9 percent year on year. ASEAN still remains Henan Province's largest trading partner. The province's trade volume with the EU, Latin America and Japan was 54.49 billion yuan, 46.71 billion yuan and 28.08 billion yuan, up 31.1 percent, 18.9 percent and 163.8 percent respectively. During the reporting period, the province's trade volume with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative was 198.17 billion yuan, up 16.4 percent year on year.
In the first six months of 2025, Henan Province registered 11,700 foreign trade enterprises that actually carried out imports and exports, up 1,235 from the previous year.
In addition, expanding domestic demand has driven the growth of imports of electromechanical products and important raw materials. In the first half of 2025, Henan Province's imports of electromechanical products totaled 73.55 billion yuan, up 10.9 percent year on year. Agricultural product imports totaled 7.95 billion yuan (up 25 percent). Unrolled copper and copper material imports totaled 4.98 billion yuan, up 114.2 percent year on year. -0-
