GENEVA, July 12 (Xinhua) — Around 800 people have been killed while trying to access humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said on Friday.
Speaking at a press briefing in Geneva, OHCHR spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani said that as of 7 July, the office had recorded 798 deaths in aid distribution areas in Gaza.
“Including 615 near the facilities of the Gaza Humanitarian Aid Fund and 183, presumably, on the routes of humanitarian aid convoys,” she specified.
She also noted that most of the victims suffered gunshot wounds.
According to her, this situation is unacceptable, but it continues. –0–
