TIANJIN, July 12 (Xinhua) — Chinese and Uzbek experts listed the prospects for digital cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) at the SCO Digital Economic Forum, which was held from Thursday to Friday in Tianjin, north China.
“Chinese enterprises are actively involved in the construction of the 5G network and the “smart city” in Uzbekistan,” said Daniyar Kurbanov, head of the department for the study of historical and cultural heritage and humanitarian research at the International Institute of Central Asian Studies of Uzbekistan.
He stressed that cooperation between China and other SCO countries is becoming an important benchmark for Central Asian countries in implementing digital transformation.
According to Akbarkhuja Akramkhuzhaev, Senior Specialist of the Investment Project Office of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in recent years Uzbekistan has been promoting the implementation of its digital development strategy, increasing mobile network coverage, promoting the digitalization of public services and striving to become a key center for the development of digital technologies in Central Asia.
Cooperation with the intelligent education system of Chinese enterprises and research institutes will help SCO countries make progress in developing tools, transforming digital technologies and training qualified personnel in educational public services, he added.
Zhao Hongyu, CEO of local technology company Zhongke Ruiyan Co., Ltd, noted that his company has launched cooperation with the Uzbek side in the field of developing an intelligent learning platform.
According to him, this digital platform, which combines many functions such as training, information exchange and interaction, will provide more opportunities for digital education in Uzbekistan and the training of qualified specialists in the field of digital technologies.
The event, titled “New Links of the Digital Economy, Jointly Expanding New Horizons of Cooperation,” consisted of an opening ceremony, a main forum, four thematic sub-forums and other relevant events.
The forum, jointly organized by the State Data Administration and the Tianjin People's Government, was attended by more than 1,500 guests representing governments, enterprises, universities and think tanks of SCO member states. -0-
