The readiness of the building of dormitory No. 1, which is being built on the campus of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad, is about 70%. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
"The creation of modern university campuses is being carried out on the instructions of the President of Russia and is aimed at developing advanced educational infrastructure. This will create favorable conditions for training highly qualified personnel, conducting scientific activities and implementing innovative developments. In addition to the educational infrastructure, comfortable living conditions for students are being created. For example, such a campus is being built in Kaliningrad on the basis of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. It is planned to construct eight new buildings, including six academic buildings and two dormitories. Currently, over 1.5 thousand specialists are working at the campus construction site with a total area of over 109 thousand square meters and about 19 units of equipment are involved. Glazing work has been completed in dormitory No. 1. The overall readiness of the building is about 70%. Over 1.6 thousand people will live in a comfortable dormitory with a total area of over 33 thousand square meters," said Marat Khusnullin.
It will house apartment-type residential premises, co-working spaces, recreational areas, a food court, as well as administrative and utility premises.
"The large-scale educational facility is being implemented within the framework of the comprehensive state program "Construction", supervised by the Ministry of Construction of Russia. Currently, work is also actively underway on the campus to improve it. In the future, recreation areas, sports grounds, alleys will be located near the buildings, and bicycle parking will appear near the dormitories," said Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Yuri Gordeyev.
Currently, finishing works, installation of utility lines and installation of facade structures are ongoing in the first dormitory. In addition, a pedestrian zone with cafes, shops and bank branches will be arranged in the university campus.
"The construction of dormitories for university students is a key element of the educational infrastructure. It not only solves the housing problem, but also creates conditions for social interaction. In total, two dormitory buildings for approximately 2.5 thousand places with everything necessary for comfortable living will be built on the basis of the university. Their construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2025," said Karen Oganesyan, General Director of the Unified Customer PPC.
