BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) — The China-Central Asia Media Salon with the leitmotif "Beauty in Harmony – Harmonious Ili" was held recently at the China-Kazakhstan International Center for Boundary Cooperation "Khorgos" located in the city of the same name in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR, northwest China).
More than 40 representatives of the media, universities and think tanks gathered together to share successful experiences and promote partnership projects aimed at updating models and approaches to media development in the region, according to a report from the news platform chinanews.com.cn.
The presentation of the first international short video competition “Khorgos Cup” on the theme “we are good neighbors” also took place on the sidelines of the media salon.
Yan Xiancheng, Director of the Press Office of the People's Government of Horgos City, read out the text of the competition presentation and announced the start of the global call for video works.
He called on all the media representatives present to make active efforts to promote the competition and attract more people to participate in it, so as to jointly identify and disseminate impressive episodes that demonstrate the deep friendship between the peoples of China and Central Asian countries.
Before the media salon, media representatives from Central Asian countries visited the EXPO of goods and trade of Central Asia /Khorgos/-2025 as reporters, which opened on the same day in the above-mentioned Khorgos center.
